Mating Seasons last 3 days Baby Beefalo spawn 1.5-2 days after that. These delayed members will go into heat at the next cycle. Multiple Beefalo being in the same area at different states indicates multiple herds even so, there may be members that reached adulthood late. They will also wake up if someone gets too close, but a Beefalo Hat wearer can walk among them with impunity, shave them, and gather loot. In this state, they target anyone close by though, they stop chasing sooner than regular Beefalo. Herds are scheduled to occasionally go into heat to breed.
A full herd won't spawn any offspring, but will still have a Mating Season (or be "in heat"), as usual.

While Klei Entertainment did a great job creating the base game of Don’t Starve Together, there are a few modifications you can find on the Steam Workshop that make it all the better, while not taking away from the experience the developers intended.
